Amy Tornquist, executive chef, and owner A native of Durham, Amy has more than 25 years of experience in catering and professional cooking. While attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill she was cooking part-time at Crooks Corner under the tutelage of founding Chef Bill Neal. She worked as a line cook as well as a baker before deciding she wanted to make a career as a chef. She is a graduate of La Varenne Ecole de Cuisine in Paris where she spent two years as chef at the British Embassy residence. She has long since owned and operated Sage & Swift Gourmet Catering as well as her restaurant Watts Grocery.
