Attendees will be able to tour a shrimp trawler docked at the Watercraft Center while enjoying hors d’oeuvres paired with a selection of Biltmore Estate sparkling wines. Following the trawler tour and a visit with the captain, attendees will sit and enjoy a four course meal inside the Watercraft Center. Selected varietals from Foley Family Wines of Healdsburg, California will be specially paired with each course in order to enhance the dining experience.

While food and drink will be an obvious focus of the evening, there will also be quite a bit to entertain and educate attendees. Throughout the evening, The Core Sound will provide lively musical entertainment incorporating blues, jazz, and folk.

The Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be Bland Simpson – North Carolina legend, cultural historian, member of the Tony Award-winning Red Clay Ramblers, and Kenan Distinguished Professor of English and Creative Writing. Mr. Simpson will host the evening and discuss his recent book, Two Captains from Carolina.
