Beaufort Wine and Food is pleased to announce its first ever road race – RUNNIN’ ON EMPTY – scheduled for Saturday, September 24th, 2016.
The race will begin in front of First Citizens Bank on Front Street, downtown Beaufort, NC
The race is scheduled as part of the events lineup during ‘BEAUFORT’S BREWIN’ – Beaufort Wine and Food’s inaugural Craft Beer Festival, that will feature a variety of craft beer focused seminars, dinners, luncheons and the crowd favorite, Beer Bubbles and BBQ.
The race will feature a 5K, 10K, and 1-Mile Walk / Fun Run, offering something for runners of all levels. The 1-Mile Walk / Fun Run will start at 7:30 am. The 5K and 10K will begin at 8:00 am.
The 5K and 10K races will be timed using RFID technology from IPICO Sports. The IPICO Sports timing system is the official system of the Road Runners Club of America and is used at some of the world’s largest races. Racers times will be displayed on site via TV.

T-shirts, commemorative pint glass and complimentary beers after the race included in registration fee. Root beer will be available for runners under 21.

1st, 2nd, 3rd place overall male
1st, 2nd, 3rd place overall female
1st, 2nd, 3rd place masters male (50 and up)
1st, 2nd, 3rd place masters female (50 and up)
1st, 2nd, 3rd place Jr male (12 & under)
1st, 2nd, 3rd place Jr female (12 & under)
For racers 21 and up, be sure to hang around after to race to enjoy frosty beer and root beer will be available for any racers under 21.
All proceeds raised from the Running on Empty road race will go towards BWF’s mission to support non-profits in Carteret County.
