Beaufort Wine and Food Unveils New Private Label Wines

Are you ready for our big news? Beaufort Wine and Food is unveiling its first ever Private Label Wines!

Be among the first to taste these fabulous selections from Château Lagrugère In Bordeaux, France. Featured selections include a Bordeaux, Rose, and Bordeaux Blanc. The wines will first be available at the Opening Wine Luncheon at the Royal James Café and then for sale at events throughout the weekend.

Château Lagrugère 2015 AOC Bordeaux 

Average age of vineyard: 10 years
Soils: clay and limestone
Grape variety: 50% white Sauvignon and 50% Semillon
Vinification: Mechanical harvest when the grape is really mature. Traditional Bordeaux vinification. Fermentation at cold temperature in stainless steel vat.
Tasting: The wine has a nice limpidity and is very brilliant. The most present flavors are white flowers and citrus fruit. In the mouth, the wine is fresh with a good balance.

Château Lagrugère Rosé 2016 Bordeaux Rosé 

History: Vignobles Lopez consists of Château de l’Hermitage in the appellation Bordeaux Supérieur and Château Lagrugère in the Bordeaux appellation. The wine growing property is located next to the smallest village in France, Castelmoron d’Albret, where Jeanne d’Albret, Henri IV’s mother lived. History tells that he used to stop at the village and, more precisely, in Château de l’Hermitage during his trips to La Navarre.
Average age of vineyard: 25 years
Soils: clay and limestone
Grape variety: 70% saignées of Merlots, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Wine making practices: Double guyot pruning, weeding of alternate rows.
Vinification: Mechanical harvest at full ripeness, sorted by hand entering the winery. Plot selection. Systematically de-stemmed at the plot during picking. Rosé from pressing and bleeding. Alcohol fermentation at low temperature for a better keeping of the fresh fruit aromas.
Tasting and wine and food pairing: This rosé has pink hues with a lot of brightness; it is pale and well structured. The nose is full of scents, with fresh notes of strawberry and blackberry. The attack is frank and bold, with notes of boiled sweets. This rosé will match perfectly with your appetizers, salads and barbecues.

Château Lagrugère 2015 AOC Bordeaux rouge 

Soils: clay and limestone
Grape variety: 50% Merlot – 50% Cabernet Sauvignon
Vinification: Mechanical harvest with direct destemming. Traditional Bordeaux vinification. Ageing in vats during 6 months. Wooden chips during vinification.

This family estate belongs to the Lopez family. Géraldine Lopez is the third generation to run the estate and is today running the estate, situated in the Entre-deux-mers region. The vineyard was converted in organic agriculture in 2010.
