Join Beaufort Wine and Food as it unveils the signature 2017 painting by artist Libby Smart during an evening celebrating the organization’s upcoming 13th annual festival.
The art unveiling will be held Saturday, March 4th, at 5:00 pm at the NC Maritime Museum’s Harvey W. Smith Watercraft Center, 320 Front Street in Beaufort. The event will highlight the signature painting, Along the Waterfront, donated to BWF by the artist. The signature painting will be featured on promotional material including the limited edition fine art poster associated with the 13th annual festival week held April 26 – 30, 2017.
In conjunction with the unveiling of the signature artwork for 2017, Beaufort Wine and Food will also be holding the FINAL ROUND of judging for its wine competition. Guests can expect to taste over 30 selections of wines. Expect to see the finalists’ wines and hundreds others poured during the 2017 Vin de Mer Epicurean Village – held Saturday, April 29th at Front Street Village.
The Art Unveiling & Wine Competition will be set up so guests can sample the wines presented, while mingling and having Ms. Smart sign the limited edition prints available for sale. Each year, our featured artist donates their painting for Beaufort Wine and Food to auction off at the Grand Reserve Tasting and Auction, raising money to donate to our partner charities. This year’s auction will be held on Friday, April 28th and feature fine art, trips and excursions, rare and fine wines and much more.
Local chef Charles Benjamin Park of Beaufort Grocery Co. will create a delectable selection of Hors d’oeuvres for guests attending the March 4th event. Votes cast by the attending guests will determine this year’s medal winning wines to be featured at the 2017 Beaufort Wine and Food Weekend. Proceeds from the March 4th wine judging and art unveiling event will go towards Beaufort Wine and Food’s ongoing mission to enrich life in Carteret County. Since the organization’s inception in 2004, almost $600,000 has been donated to charity and non-profits serving the Crystal Coast.
